Wobblybat and Whirlyball
My First Cricket Adventure
The Story I Want You To Take Away
Wobblybat and Whirlyball is a joyful celebration of cricket and childhood—but at its heart, it’s about the beautiful messiness of learning.
This is a story for every little one who’s ever missed the ball, swung too hard, or wondered if they’ll ever get it right.
It reminds little readers (and their grown-ups) that growth doesn’t happen in one perfect hit, but in all the wobbly swings and wild throws that come before.
It shows that the real victory isn’t in playing perfectly. It’s in the trying, the cheering, and the trying again, side by side.
It’s about the magic of learning something new… and the even greater magic of doing it together.
What Inspired Me to Write This Book
I wrote this because I was witnessing something special — a front-row seat to my child’s growing love for cricket, and my husband’s quiet evolution into a coach, teammate, and cheerleader.
I didn’t just want to bottle the joy of those living-room matches. I wanted to honour them.
I wanted my son to know:
“I saw you. I see you. I’ll always root for you.”
And maybe, just maybe, it’ll spark another kid, somewhere else, to pick up a bat and dream big — one wobbly swing at a time.
Through playful storytelling rooted in real life, I aim to bring energy, emotion, and encouragement to every page — reminding kids that it’s okay to wobble, miss, and try again.
